Warnung: lohnt sich nicht.Versprochen wurden >20 Essensstaende, aber es sind eher so 4. Kleiner Noodle Stand (der 1h nach Beginn noch am aufstellen ist - Udon, Cold Ramen, Taiyaki, Mochi), kleiner Gyoza Stand (der mehr Kunden hat, als er bedienen kann, weil der Nachschub zu langsam ist), kleiner Sushi Stand (der nicht viel zu bieten hat, da findet man in Gehdistanz besseres - obwohl es in Zug nicht gerade viel Sushi gibt), kleiner Stand mit Candied Fruits (Ringo-Ame), Sake Shop, Snack Shop (Pocky, Kit Kat, etc.) und das wars. Ach ja, eine Bar, die wohl irgendwann im Laufe des Tages oeffnen wird, aber danach sieht es aktuell noch gar nicht aus (wird aber wohl auch nur Ramune und die gaengigsten japanischen Biere haben).Alle die rein laufen haben dieselbe Reaktion: "ist das alles?" Einige stehen dann fuer Gyoza an, wenige fuer Noodles (da noch nicht offen) und der Rest geht gleich wieder.Nachtrag: Noodles jetzt offen. Schlange waechst, da sie als einzige etwas leicht spezielleres und vorallem eine richtige Mahlzeit anbieten. kA ob spaeter noch mehr Staende kommen, aber Platz fuer die angekuendigten 20 Staende hat es gefuehlt gar nicht, bei weitem nicht.

@trashpanda Das kann ich nicht beantworten, aber ausser der "Bar" war niemand mehr am aufstellen. Sie haben ja nie eine Liste veroeffentlicht, welche Staende es geben wird. Wenn da noch mehr dazu kommen, dann wohl eher gegen Abend oder morgen.

@trashpanda Wie war es als ihr angekommen sind? Möchte Morgen gehen aber tönt ja nicht sehr begeisternd. 😅

@LalaLauch Also die 3 Stände draussen waren ganz gut, ich hatte einmal vegie Ramen und dann Udon Nudelnsuppe und als Dessert Mochis, die Mochis waren auch das Highlight (waren um 15:30 oder so schon alle ausverkauft). An der Bar gabs Ramune und japanisches Bier, der war um 14 Uhr oder so schon offen. Und ich hab noch Candy Strawberry probiert, das war so lala. Einfach Erdbeere am Spiess mit Zucker XD Und Süssigkeiten und Snacks konnte man auch kaufen, aber fand das schon ganz schön überteuert. Und um 15 Uhr war der einte Stand mit glaub ich Teigtaschen gefüllt mit irgendwas auch ausverkauft. Wollte die auch probieren. Joah, jetzt muss man selbst entscheiden ob sich der (vielleicht) langer Fahrtweg dafür lohnt. Wir haben es noch mit einem kurzen Ausflug in der Zuger Altstadt und zum See kombiniert, daher hat es sich schon recht gelohnt für uns.

@trashpanda Dann versuche ich es morgen. Sind schon um 11.00 in Zug und haben genug Zeit eingeplant um auch am Nachmittag an den See und in die Stadt zu gehen. 😀

Ich war auch da. und so wie sie Werbung gemacht haben...da hatte ich eindeutig mehr erwartet. Andererseits haben Ihnen auch viele Stände abgesagt, wie ich im nachhinein gehört habe. andererseits weiss ich leider sehr genau, wer da im OK sitzt und da braucht man nicht viel zu erwarten. Ich fand es peinlich, als wir um 12.00 Uhr ankamen und 2 Stände immer noch nicht ready waren und das OK auch noch sachen am Aufbauen war. Aber ja, typisch Unicon, nach meinen bisherigen Erfahrungen 🤷‍♀️ (besonders nach dem einen Jahr als Helfer... -_- ) Für mich war es nicht so weit weg, daher war es auch gut machbar. Aber für andere Leute...die mussten nachher kucken, wie sie den Tag jetzt noch verbringen wollten, einfach weil sie mit viel mehr Ständen gerechnet hatten. Auch wurden die Stände, welche bereits offen hatten, überrannt während andere noch nicht bereit waren oder waren bereits innert kürzester Zeit ausverkauft. Fazit: Unicon und deren OK haben mich gesehen. Punkt und aus.

This is Pia - organizer of Japan Food Fest. I’ve been meaning to respond to this thread but never managed - my apologies for the big delay. Sorry for the upcoming long text and I hope English is ok here!I appreciate all your feedback about the first Japan Food Fest (2022) and informing the community about how it went with honest and valid feedback. Here are some things I want to share as the organizer and hopefully you can give Japan Food Fest a chance again.Firstly - Japan Food Fest came to idea because i’ve been craving for Japanese food during COVID and always thought the food at cons wasn’t enough. I contacted a Japanese Non profit if they want to do an event (Japan Neujahr Fest) like they did before in the same area and I can support but sadly they were not available. I volunteer for UniCon so when I told them I wanted to organize an event, they said they would be happy to support me. This is why the poster says “supported by UniCon”. Goal for the event was 20 food stands as I had over 80 contacts. After contacting Japanese businesses, I learned that some closed due to COVID and some were hesitant. The borders of Japan also opened up to citizens ever since the lockdown so many of them visited home. The moment I saw that we couldn’t reach the goal - I updated my comms. Unfortunately, I must have missed the one in Little Akiba.JFF gave opportunities to businesses that have never sold at an event before. Since we thought it would be a small event - it’s perfect for them to experiment. This is why some of the stands were slow in serving, bare in design, etc..As most of the stands were first timers, setup took longer and many people were waiting 🙁 This year, we are setting up as early as 6am as a a learning.Many food stands made fresh food so preparing it took some time. I also communicated to the stands that we are only expecting around 400 people for the whole weekend. This is why the food they prepared the day before was limited. On the day of, there were at least 400 already! Food stands were sold out and overwhelmed by all the people.Marketing of the event went really well. I joke around actually that.. It went TOO well that it actually hurt the event. Expectations from attendees grew higher and TOO many people attended. The food stands were so happy they sold out but the organizing team were in a lot of stress as many things didn’t go well (car problems, electricity problems, etc…)In the event, there were feedback forms posted everywhere because we wanted to hear from people - specially that it’s the first event that I’m doing. I’ve responded to the feedback sent in Facebook and Instagram and taken into heart the ones provided in the forms. Sadly, there were people that were very angry and started trashtalking the event and UniCon. I decided to leave them as I didn’t want to cause any more issues, especially because we had another event happening in 1 month (UniCon Summer - I’m the program manager). Both parties have talked and this has been sorted out.Despite all of the stress, I still considered Japan Food Fest a success for a first event based on the number of attendees, happiness of the food stands, and feedback received from the feedback form. I’ve learned so much and I hope that if you have the time this weekend, to give Japan Food Fest a second chance.Thanks for reaching this part.
